Ahh the house in Puerto Rico…this is what really sparked my quest for simpler living!
I actually lived in this beautiful, 6,000 sq. ft. home overlooking the Caribbean Sea! It was so large that I couldn’t even fill it. It is a bit dated and since we were renters we didn’t want to invest into restoring the home back to it’s original glory. I literally had cabinets, rooms and basements EMPTY. There were rooms I don’t think I went in once. It took me 3 days just to clean it… this wasn’t the life I wanted.
This home with ocean views is on top of a mountain in Ponce, PR. It’s hard to believe I didn’t want to stay here forever, isn’t it?

Keep on reading if you’re curious about how to use chalk paint for refinishing furniture, or in this case for refinishing a dresser with chalk paint. It was fun and super easy. Legit a skill level of 1 required.

Ahhh… Venice, Italy. What a dream it was to be able to visit! Here’s my getaway guide to visiting Venice and Murano in 2 days! Yes, you CAN see Venice in only a few days!
Venice (like Greece) was another city on my list of “must visit destinations while living in Poland.” Since our time living in Europe is quickly coming to an end (NOOO!!!!) we had to fit this trip in ASAP! So, like many of our other trips, we purchased a ticket via RyanAir for under $100 and off we went. However, unlike our other trips, we now had baby H in tow! Let me tell you though, traveling with a baby was SO much easier than I thought it would be. Anyways, back to Venice.
While out for my afternoon walk today, it started snowing…just a light dusting, nothing to write home about but it was so very beautiful I thought I would share some images I took from around Cathedral Island. It’s the simple things in life that mean the most.

One of my favorite things – and something that makes the cut while I am going through my house and purging everything that comes in my path – is from my wedding. This was my ring bearer bowl with the description, “Lately I have realized the best is yet to come.”
Oh how true that is!? I love it now more than I did 5 years ago!
