DIY Ikea Ribba Frames, Pottery Barn Inspired

I loved these large matte frames from Pottery Barn - but for almost $600 for a set of 4, I just could not warrant that cost. So are you ready for an easy peasy DIY Project using Ikea Ribba frames? Well here it is! This project will save you a whooping $500!

I used the 16x20” Black Ribba Frame from Ikea, which are just about $15 each. I then went to my local Hobby Lobby store and asked for a white matte board cut to a 5x7” picture matte. About 10 minutes later, I had these beauties that look nearly identical to the Pottery Barn ones!

Here is an example of how just changing the matte size adds luxury and elegance.

For the matting cost: Hobby Lobby cost varies based on what matting you choose, but without an in store sale, it will cost you $11-$14 each or so. (But keep in mind they have 40% off in the store a ton if you can wait!) Also, I am sure other stores like Micheals, might also have a custom frame shop should you not have a Hobby Lobby nearby.

Now, if you don’t want to head to the store you can also buy these precut inserts from Amazon that would work just as well!
